Ramzan Kadyrov, leader of Chechnya and ally of Vladimir Putin, accused Elon Musk of remotely disabling a Tesla Cybertruck that he claims was a gift from the billionaire.

The vehicle, modified with a machine gun, was being used by Russian troops in the war against Ukraine but needed to be towed from the battlefield after it stopped functioning.

Kadyrov criticized Musk for his behavior, stating that he gives expensive gifts only to later disconnect them remotely.

Musk, however, denied Kadyrov’s allegations, responding offensively on social media and refuting that he had gifted the vehicle to the general.

Kadyrov, who released videos driving the Cybertruck in August, claimed to have sent two other vehicles to the front lines, highlighting the car’s efficiency in combat before it was disabled.

Kadyrov, one of Putin’s most powerful and feared allies, has a history of loyalty to the Russian regime, earning the nickname “Putin’s war dog.” His rule in Chechnya is marked by allegations of serious human rights violations, with U.S. sanctions due to crackdowns, torture, and extrajudicial killings. He argues that his strict policies are necessary to maintain stability in the region.
